Ekāyano ayaṃ, bhikkhave, maggo sattānaṃ visuddhiyā,
This is the only means for anyone, Mendicants, the path for beings to be born in purity,
sokapariddavānaṃ samatikkamāya, dukkhadomanassānaṃ atthaṅgamāya,
for their total release from grief & lamentation, for the setting down of stress & displeasure,
ñāyassa adhigamāya, nibbānassa sacchikiriyāya,
this path has the right manner for the attainment of knowledge, and for entering nibbāna,
yadidaṃ cattāro satipaṭṭhānā.
In other words, the four foundations of mindfulness used in reference.”
6.3 Conclusion
Iti yan-taṃ vuttaṃ, idam-etaṃ paṭicca vuttan”-ti.
Therefore what was spoken, “it was said for this reason.”
Idam-avoca Bhagavā,
Once the fortunate one had said this,
attamanā te bhikkhū Bhagavato bhāsitaṃ abhinandun-ti.
those meditators were delighted by these words of the fortunate one and greatly rejoiced in them.
